MediLumine’s EMCCD based PRISM™ uses photon counting for highly sensitive in vivo optical imaging. The imager is able to detect a single photon in a pixel opening a new biological window for bioluminescent imaging and also allows for 3D imaging in trans-fluorescent mode.
Due to the highly sensitive EMCCD camera, the system allows for real time imaging in bioluminescent and fluorescence imaging modes.
The example below shows PRISM™ in vivo detection of near infrared photons from bioluminescent tumor expressing luciferase.
